Nogawa Park

Nogawa Park is one of the Tokyo Metropolitan Parks in the Musashino region, blessed with abundant water and greenery. A stroll along the Nogawa river running through the park will allow you to enjoy the beauty of nature over the changing seasons.

Jindai Botanical Gardens

The Jindai Botanical Gardens is a home to approximately 100,000 trees and plants belonging to 4,800 species. Throughout the year, visitors are fascinated by the beauty of its lush greenery and wide variety of plants and flowers.

Jindaiji Temple

Founded in 733AD, Jindaiji Temple is the second oldest Buddhist temple in the Tokyo metropolitan area after Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. The abundance of spring water in the surrounding area led locals to foster their belief in the God of Water, and contributed to the development of the tea and soba noodle shops lining up along the road connecting to the main gate.

Ranking in as one of the "most desirable places to live in Tokyo," Kichijoji is an ever-popular town with a distinct characteristic, where large-scale shopping centers, arcades, and unique traditional stores blend in together to make up the busy and lively commercial area centered around Kichijoji station.

Your Guide to Musashino City

Inogashira Park

The Tokyo Metropolitan Inokashira Park is a large garden park that straddles the two cities of Musashino and Mitaka. Various recreation facilities, a shrine, and a broad pond is nicely situated within the rich nature that features the remnants of olden day Musashino, and is loved by locals and visitors alike as an iconic green oasis.

Ghibli Museum, Mitaka

"Studio Ghibli" is a Japanese animation film studio renowned for producing numerous best-selling animated works. At the Ghibli Museum, Mitaka, visitors can experience a fascinating immersion into the world of Ghibli (admission to the Museum is by advanced reservation only).

Ajinomoto Stadium

Ajinomoto Stadium is home to two professional soccer league (J-League) teams, F.C. Tokyo and Tokyo Verdy, and has been used as one of the venues for the Rugby World Cup of 2019 held in Japan. Having a seating capacity of approximately 50,000, it is also known for serving as a multi-purpose, large-scale venue for various events such as concerts, exhibitions, and markets.

Takaosan (Mt. Takao)

With an altitude of 599m, Mt. Takao is a popular mountain located roughly an hour from the Mitaka Campus by train and bus. Its closeness to the heart of the city makes it a perfect day-trip destination for a relaxing, leisure hike. By using the cable car and chair lift from the foot of the mountain, visitors can travel directly to the midway point (472m above sea level). In 2007, together with Mt. Fuji, it was recognized as a three-star destination by the Michelin Travel Guide.
